Chris SteinsChris is a nationally-recognized consultant in the field of technology and urban planning, and has
worked with a broad range of clients in government, education, and the private and nonprofit sectors.Chris is also an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California where he teaches a popular graduate course on technology and public participation. He is a graduate of both UCLA and the USC Price School of Policy, from which he holds a Master's degree in Urban Planning. Abhijeet ChavanAbhijeet brings a rare combination of experience in technical architecture, usability and information design to Urban Insight, where he sets Urban Insight's technology strategy. He was formerly the Information Technology Coordinator for the Imaging Systems Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he developed and implemented GIS and web solutions for urban community development projects. Abhijeet is the co-founder of Planetizen, the world's most visited urban planning network. Abhijeet holds a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Abhijeet is a music lover, and previously played in a college music group.
Mindy OliverMindy brings a unique blend of cutting edge entertainment print and web design to Urban Insight. An award-winning designer, she has 16 years of experience in web design, graphic design, print design, and illustration. She was formerly a commercial illustrator as well as a designer for several entertainment websites and magazines, and specializes in creating designs that are compelling, clean and functional. Mindy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Mindy also enjoys painting with watercolor and making soy wax candles.
Ron GolanRon helps clients keep their websites running smoothly. Before becoming a Drupal expert, Ron was a practicing architect, receiving his B.Arch from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and an M.Arch from Southern California Institute of Architecture, Los Angeles and Vico Morcote, Switzerland. He is the designer and developer of the Southern California Linux Expo website and helped with the Drupal Design Camp Los Angeles website.
Oleksandr GrygorashOleksandr develops and implements complex systems for many of Urban Insight's clients, including the University of Southern California, Zone Reactor, and Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. He has a over a decade of experience designing and developing sophisticated web applications, and holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of South Alabama. Oleksandr is also the author of the popular MyPics iPhone App for managing Picasa web albums, and can solve a Rubik's Cube in under one minute.
Ki H. KimKi architects and develops web applications to drive intranet systems, legal aid support systems, and social network websites. Ki is the creator and maintainer of the Drupal modules Report, User One, OG Hide Membership and Cite, and one of the lead developers for Urban Insight's Open Advocate Drupal distribution for legal aid and self-help organizations. Ki previously served as the website and IT manager for Oriental Mission Church in Los Angeles, one of the largest churches in Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from California State University, and is a fan of gospel, classical music and Korean pop.
Gergely LekliGergely develops and maintains Drupal-based web sites for clients such as the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism and the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, and has been involved in research projects at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Gergely is the creator and maintainer of the Drupal module Devel Debug Log. Gergely is also an avid ice skater.
Chris LoosChris works directly with clients like the Screen Actors Guild Foundation and the California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowship to make sure their projects run smoothly and effectively. He is also the lead developer for complex websites, such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Railist. Chris has a BS in Computer Science from Syracuse University and a Master of Community Planning from the University of Maryland. As a newcomer to Los Angeles, his favorite pastime is eating his way through the restaurants of Koreatown and Downtown Los Angeles.
Cate MillerCate's friendly voice is often the first point of contact for clients. In addition to performing client support, she keeps the trains on time and manages operations and marketing for Planetizen, the world's most visited urban planning website. She has a BA in Art and History from the University of Illinois at Chicago and Columbia College. In her spare time, Cate curates the popular animal blog Bobotown, and first introduced the Urban Insight team to Lolcats, long before they were an Internet sensation.
Jonathan Nettler, AICPJonathan is a thought leader in the world of urban planning, and drives the content and editorial direction of Planetizen, a popular Drupal-based news website founded by Urban Insight in 2000. Jonathan previously served as Project Manager and Project Planner for Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn (EE&K) Architects. He received a Master of Arts degree in Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Boston University. Jonathan is also on the board of the Los Angeles section of the American Planning Association a member of the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council's Urban Design and Preservation Committee.
Kurt RademaekersKurt leads high-profile projects for clients such as the American Library Association and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of New York at Albany and the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, highly regarded in the systems development and engineering professions. With over 25 years in systems development, Kurt has a broad background in technology and is a fierce advocate for usability. Kurt recently served for three years as Secretary for the Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council in Los Angeles and formerly ran a community newspaper.
Minnur YunusovMinnur performs the full spectrum of web-related tasks, from Drupal theming and module creation to server-side programming and third-party Integrations. He works on project for the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, Cerrell Associates, and the Urban Land Institute. Originally from West Siberia, Minnur has a Master's degree in computer science from Tyumen State University in Russia. Minnur is the creator and maintainer of the Drupal module SimpleAdvertisements. Minnur also studied fine arts in Russia, and is an accomplished painter and artist.
