We are working with the American Library Association to create a social networking website to connect and facilitate collaboration among the ALA's 65,000+ members and staff.
Called ALAConnect, the website has experienced rapid growth and expansion since it's initial launch in May, 2009. In the first six months, the ALA designated the project a success, concluding that the site realized all 10 of the success metrics we identified during the requirements gathering phase of the project.
The website is based on the popular open source Drupal web content management system. To integrate with ALA's existing membership system, we developed i2D, an innovative module that enables synchronization of membership data between Drupal and the ALA's iMIS-based membership system. We documented this work in a popular case study on the Drupal website.
