The East Baton Rouge Comprehensive Plan or "FUTUREBR" is an opportunity to shape future growth in the city and parish over the next 30 years. The Plan will guide the physical development and future policy decisions related to land use, urban design, housing, economic development, open space, and transportation in the city.
Working with a team of national consultants led by internationally-acclaimed consulting firm Fregonese Associates, Urban Insight is responsible for the project's Internet strategy.
Using the popular and open source Drupal web content management system, we worked with the City to develop the project website, FUTUREBR.com to foster citizen participation, communicate with constituents, and document the project. Visitors are encouraged to sign up to become Citizen Planners, participate in workshops, and engage with the project through a variety of social media networks.
The FUTUREBR.com website is based on Urban Insight's Vision Website Platform (TM), which is a set of best-of-class public participation tools that can be quickly and affordably configured to a project's specific needs.
