We are working with the Screen Actors Guild Foundation to create and manage a series of websites to provide actors the tools and networks they need to empower themselves as both artists and professionals.
For example, the Screen Actors Guild Foundation website, based on the popular open source Drupal web content management system, facilitates a national speaker series which invites well-known, working actors to share their experiences in the industry with an audience of actors.
From the Casting Access Project, which offers Guild members an opportunity to meet, work with and learn from established casting professionals, to a volunteer management system, members of the Screen Actors Guild use the website to help each member in his or her professional endeavors.
Urban Insight has helped the Foundation to win a $120,000/year grant from Google to support the popular Storyline Online website, one of several children's literacy efforts supported by the Foundation.
Storyline Online features stories read by celebrities including Jane Kaczmarek, Bradley Whitford, Esai Morales, Amber Tamblyn, Eric Close, and Elijah Wood. Available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, free of charge, Storyline Online ensures that every child who has access to an Internet connection can be exposed to a story.
