Integrating iMIS & Drupal

Urban Insight is the first firm to successfully integrate an enterprise installation of Drupal with Advanced Solutions International's iMIS system. iMIS supports a range of non-profit business software needs such as association and membership management, fundraising and donor management, and executive management.

Working with a national nonprofit client, Urban Insight integrated Drupal's user management system with iMIS to build a membership community that offers a single-sign on and integrated user login and authentication process, automated updating of user information, and membership in Drupal organic groups based on settings that exist within iMIS.

What is Drupal?

Drupal (pronounced /'dru-pal/) is a popular, flexible, free and open source framework and content management system. It is used to power many different types of websites, ranging from small personal blogs to large corporate and political sites.

The standard release of Drupal contains basic features common to most content management systems; however, Drupal was designed to allow new features through the creation of additional "modules." For this reason, Drupal is often described as a "Content Management Framework". There are now more than 350 modules that provide a wide assortment of features such as e-commerce, workflow management, banner advertising, photo sharing, mailing list management, internationalization, communitybuilding, social networking, and collaboration.
